Teaching Philosophy
Teaching has been a life long dream for me. I have
been interested in working with young people for my whole life. I believe
that teachers and coaches are people that young people trust and respect.
It is my hope to help young people discover the fascinating
field of social studies, in all of the many areas included in social studies.
Social studies is the one area of education that is directly related to the
reality of students’ daily lives. Students can truly relate to the
material in a social studies classroom.
I would also hope to enlighten students on issues of diversity.
As a social studies teacher, diversity is an area I feel a great responsibility
to focus student attention toward.
Also, I hope to encourage students to participate in the
civic arena and be active citizens. I feel that living in the United
States is a blessing, with all our freedoms. I hope to encourage students
to be active participants and appreciate their freedoms.
